"Alright, so this sounds a lot more complicated than a regular exchange with a normal limit order book. The premiums also make it prohibitively expensive for whales to transact large size. So what is so great about this style of exchange? In a nutshell, the pooled liquidity smooths out the depth of the order book. There are no more large holes or large bid/ask spreads. This is preferable for small traders who don’t want to have to deal with limit order books (the Uniswap UX is one of the slickest we’ve seen in all of crypto). No more having to make bids or offers or doing heavy calculations. Liquidity providers can also “set it and forget it.” There’s significantly less overhead in terms of management of orders and positions. It’s an incredibly passive way to provide liquidity and earn some fees."
"There is no reason to customize the case against her nomination to the tastes of moderate Republican senators. Instead, Democrats’ intended audience must be that idiosyncratic, endangered species of American we call “swing voters.” And that means focusing on policy, not personality."
“This is another example of companies setting the rules where democratic governments have neglected to do so,”

“Few empirically literate economists take PPP seriously as a short-term proposition,” Ken Rogoff of Harvard University once pointed out, but most believe it has some anchoring power over the long run. It gives investors something to chew on. But it’s not fast food.

"NVIDIA managed to one-up the whole custom-design graphics card industry. The new Founders Edition is still a compact dual-slot design, yet is able to run at 320 W board power, without any thermal throttling."
"What's even more impressive is that the noise levels on the new FE are very good, though not whisper quiet—that's unrealistic to expect from a dual-slot card than runs 60+ FPS at 4K. The fans are audible, but not loud or annoying in any way."
"It will be interesting to see if their cards will be able to match or exceed the RTX 3080 Founders Edition. NVIDIA set the bar very high."
